                        Elaine P. Crego 

     Elaine P. Crego, 65, of Rome, passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 at  Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center, New Hartford.  She was born in  Schenectady, N.Y. on October 2, 1944.  Elaine graduated from Rome  Free Academy.  On April 17, 1982, she married George D. Crego Jr. in  Rome.  Elaine retired from Rome State School due to disability and  was at one time the owner of the Snack Bar at the former Stars.  She  was of the Catholic faith.  

     Surviving besides her husband, George, are a son and daughter-in-law,  David and Christine Jones, Clinton; a daughter and son-in-law,  Jennifer and Darren Kaczor, Durhamville; a step daughter, Denese and  her husband, Douglas Savoy, Holland Patent; four grandchildren,  Kalyn, DeForrest, Justin and Coleman.

      Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.   Spring burial will be in Westernville Cemetery.  In lieu of calling  hours, friends may join the family for a celebration of Elaine's life  on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Westernville American Legion  from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions  may be made to the American Heart Association, 120 Lomond Court,  Utica, N.Y. 13502-5953, or the American Lung Association, 506 E.  Washington St, Syracuse, N.Y. 13202.

     Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W.  Court St.

Elaine was a warm, loving and very caring person she was my dear friend for 40 years. we have gone throuh good and bad times and always seemed to get through it . I will miss my friend very much. she was loved by everyone YOUR FRIEND ALWAYS RITA

Dear George, So So sorry for your loss. I really wish i knew she was sick, i would have gone to visit her. George, she has had a lot of things going on through the years and now she is at peace, with no more suffering. Again, I am so sorry. Love to you and your children.I just talked to Sandy and we will try to get to the get together. Hang in there, George. I know, it will be hard, but peace will come knowing she is at peace. ELAINE AND I GO BACK 44 YRS. DAVID WAS JUST A LITTLE GUY BACK THEN. WE MEET WHEN I WORKED FOR HER AT STARS. WE BECAME GOOD FRIENDS.SHE WAS A LOT OF FUN AND HAD A GOOD HEART.I KNOW SHE WILL BE MISSED. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HER AND HOLD HER IN MY PRAYERS.DAVID IS YOUNGER THAN MY DAUGHTER PENNI. I DONT THINK HE WOULD REMEMBER US. THE LAST TIME I SAW DAVID WAS WHEN THEY LIVED UP PAST STOCKHOLM FOOD.
