                     Juliette Joy Panara


     Juliette Joy Panara, 77, of Rome, passed away on Monday, February 1,  2010 at home with her loving family by her side.  Born in Rome on  October 9, 1932, she was the daughter of John and Mary Ann Queirolo.   She was married to Anthony J. Panara at St. Mary's Church in Rome on  May 5, 1956.

      Joy was a homemaker for many years.  In addition, she worked as a  secretary to the Commissioner of Aviation at Oneida County Airport  and was a volunteer and employee of the Rome Voluntary Action  Center.  One of her greatest joys was being with family and friends  in her home as well as being an active member with her husband, Tony,  at St. John the Baptist Church in Rome.

      Joy is survived by her beloved husband, Anthony, and her four  children, Alena Panara, Rome, Joel Panara, Raleigh, N.C., Beth Ann  and her husband Michael Nichols, Rhinebeck, N.Y. and Andrea Panara,  Rome.  She is also survived by her brother, John J. Queirolo, Sr. and  his wife, Barbara, of Ridgefield, CT.  Joy was a loving grandmother  to her four grandchildren, Jake, Sawyer, Cicely and Summer.  In  addition, she is survived by nieces and nephews, all of whom she  loved and appreciated.  Joy was predeceased by her sister, Jeannine  Drewnowski, of Rome.

     Joy's family is very appreciative of the 6th floor nurses and staff  at St. Luke's Hospital, and Hospice and Palliative Care for all the  loving care and attention that she received.

      Funeral services will be held on Friday at St. John the Baptist  Church at 11:00 a.m.  Spring burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.   Friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W.  Court St., on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers,  contributions in her memory may be made to the Special Olympics New  York, Inc., 504 Balltown Road, Building 12C, Schenectady, N.Y. 12304.
