Josephine Mastrangelo Eagan

     Josephine Mastrangelo Egan, 83, of Detroit, Mich. and formerly of Rome, passed away Monday, February 1, 2010 at St. John's Hospital, Detroit. She was born in Rome, N.Y. on November 1, 1926, daughter of the late Armando and Julianna Montopoli Mastrangelo. Josephine graduated from Rome Free Academy and received her bachelor of arts degree from Boston College. She worked as a registered nurse for several years, retiring from El Camino Hospital, Mt. View, Calif. Josephine married Emmet Eagan, who passed away in 1989. She was a former member of St. John the Baptist Church.
     Surviving are a sister, Esther Esposito, Tarrrytown, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Claire Mastrangelo, Utica; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Dino, Anthony, and Alfonso Mastrangelo.
     Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
