Earl M. Hart Sr., 80, of Kiwanis Road, Taberg, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Rome Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Rome, N.Y. on May 7, 1926, son of the late Morris Earl and Ada Webb Hart. Earl graduated from Rome Free Academy. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. On December 26, 1964 he married Nancy Allgaier in Rome. Mr. Hart was employed at Rome General Lumber and Hardware for over 48 years. He was an active member of the Rome Chamber of Commerece, involved with the annual silent auction and chairman of the Rome Home Show for many years. Earl was a member of the Rome Clean and Green organization, Lee Center American Legion and was a four time past Governor of the Rome Moose Club, where he held a fellowship. Surviving besides his wife, Nancy, are six sons, Paul, David, Peter, Steven, Scott and Earl Jr., three daughters, Sharon, Brenda and Linda, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a brother, Charles Hart, and a sister, Doris Squadrito, all of Rome; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Berube. Services are private There are no calling hours. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
