Silvio J. Scaccia Silvio J. Scaccia, 88, of Rome, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rome, N.Y. on December 13, 1919, son of the late Bernadino and Adelaide Galli Scaccia. Sil was educated in Rome Schools. On November 16, 1940, he married Rose M. Destito in St. John the Baptist Church. Mr. Scaccia retired from Rome Cable. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Surviving besides his wife, Rose, are a son and daughter-in-law, Bernard and Jeanette Scaccia, Rome; a daughter, Adelaide Penne Goddard, Reno, Nev.; five grandchildren, Kimberly Goddard Michael, Reno, Nev., Kevin Goddard, St. Petersburg, Fla., Keith Goddard, Denver, Colo., David Scaccia, Rome, and Denise Barr, Whitesboro, N.Y.; six great grandchildren, Mykaela, Alexa, Megan, Michael, Mary Rose and Alex; two sisters, Edith Page and Jeanette Fumarola, both of Rome; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph, James, Alfred and Anthony Scaccia, and three sisters, Angeline Carello, Josephine Trificana and Louise Scaccia. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Potluri and the staff of the Bartlett Wing at Rome Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church where family and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St.
