John J. Kicak Mr. John J. Kicak, 79, a resident of the Rome Nursing Home, Rome passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2008. He was born in Rome, NY a son of Andrew and Mary Kurinowska Kicak. John graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1947 and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. On May 29, 1954, he married the former Josephine Conti. John was employed as a truck driver for Daniels Motor Freight and was a member of St. Peters Church in Rome. John is survived by his wife, Josephine, of Rome; one son, Brad Kicak, of Blossvale, NY; one brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Jane Kicak, California; one sister, Katherine Tasky, of Rome; three grandchildren, Joshua, Christopher, and Andrew Kicak, of Blossvale; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Virginia and Robert Anderson, of Rome. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, and a close friend Kelley Carrier, of Lee Center. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lugena Kicak; five brothers, Andrew Kicak, Michael, Charles and Nicolas Bohojckek, and Frank Boyd; three sisters, Sophie Lolo, Mary Hitchings, and Anna Smitz. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 23, 2008 at 8:45 am from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home and at 9:30 am at St. Peters Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, Rome. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, 218 W. Court St., Rome. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peters Church Memorial Fund.
