Richard Dorsino Richard Daniel Dorsino, 78, of Rome, went home to be with His Savior, Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Albany Medical Center, Albany NY. Richard was born in Rome, NY, to F.A. Dorsino and Helen (Petrelli) Dorsino on October 14, 1936. He was an RFA Graduate, studied Pre-Med at Hamilton College and was a graduate of Oswego State Teachers College. Richard was an ROTC Marine UDT before accepting a teaching position at Staley Jr. High School. Richard was head of the Rome Teachers Association, the Manager for the Oneida County Indians Semi-Pro Baseball Team, RFA Bowling Team coach. He was very artistic and did award winning custom painting on cars and motorcycles. Richard was also a partner in Central Hobby Supply Shop of Syracuse until his death. Surviving besides his loving wife of 57 years, Eileen [Knudsen], seven children, Rick Dorsino, Darren (Deb) Dorsino, Lance (Jen) Dorsino, Mike (Jennifer) Dorsino, Jim Dorsino, Joe (Michelle VanLeeuwen) and a daughter, Sheri (Mark) Reed. Richard also leaves sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren, a sister, Elaine Barlow, a nephew, Eric and a niece, Sonya. He was preceded in death by his parents, FA and Helen Dorsino, a sister, Sharon Dorsino, a niece, Jill Barlow Paquette, and a nephew, Brian Barlow. At Richard's request, services will be private. There are no calling hours. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in is name to Rome Humane Society, P.O. 4572, Rome, NY 13442-4572. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J.
