Nina A. Pettinelli Nina A. Pettinelli, 90, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Rome Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Rome, NY, on February 11, 1924 a daughter of the late Rosario and Josephine Alu Carletta. On July 3, 1948, she married Leonard S. Pettinelli, in St. John the Baptist Church, a beautiful marriage of fifty years. He passed away September 26, 1998. Nina retired from the laundry department of the former Rome State School. She was a member of St John the Baptist Church and South Rome Senior Citizen Center. Nina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed by all. Surviving are five beloved children; Carrie and her husband Richard DeProspero, Rome, Dr. Romeo and his wife Gloria Pettinelli, CA, Lorraine Cianfrocco and her significant other Sam Haynes, Rome, Mary Ann and her husband David Boffi, Rome; Lisa Pettinelli and her significant other Allison Perks, CA, grandchildren Tara and her husband Dean Famolaro, Rome, Jennifer DeProspero and her significant other Terry McNamara, Annsville, Leonard and his wife Sarah Pettinelli, NC, Gina and her husband Joseph Celaschi, CA, Leonard Cianfrocco and his significant other Alicia Small, Rome, Kristen and her husband Jeffery Christensen, CA, Kimberly Cianfrocco and her significant other B.J. Haberer, Rome and Emme Pettinelli Perks, CA, great grandchildren; Dylan Famolaro, Danielle Famolaro and Mason Cianfrocco. Also surviving are a brother and sisters-in-law Angelo and Louise Carletta, Bridgette Carletta all of Rome, Arlene Emma, Clinton, Mary Carletta,Canastota, Julie Pettinelli, Rome and a devoted sister-in-law Beatrice "Lucy" Pettinelli, Rome and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Charles Carletta, Michael Carletta, Salvatore Emma, James Emma, Louis Carletta, Salvatore Carletta and Raymond Carletta and deceased sisters; Mary Joseph, Josephine Spring, Rose Sander, Grace Madonia, Lily LaGreco and several deceased brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The family wishes to express a special thank you to all her caregivers. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 8:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Memorial Contributions in Nina's name may be made to Alzheimers Association.
