Obituary of Jean R. Gualtieri

Jean R. Gualtieri Jean R. Gualtieri, 87, of Rome, went home to the Lord with her loving family by her side, on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Rome Memorial Hospital Residential Health Care Facility. She was born in Utica, NY, on March 23, 1927, daughter of the late Vincent and Marion Roscigno Valerio. Jean was educated in Utica Schools. On June 26, 1947, she married Pat "Red" Gualtieri in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Utica. He passed away, March 13, 1977. Jean was secretary for twenty-five years for Patrick J. Gualtieri Custom Built Homes. She was also employed as a monitor at Ridge Mills School. Jean was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Priscilla Pugliese, Rome, a son and daughter-in-law, David and Jane Gualtieri, Florence NY, and a daughter-in-law Rose Gualtieri, Rome, grandchildren; Morgan and Ashley Gualtieri, Jenna and Alicia Pugliese ,Justin and his wife Megan Gualtieri, Lindsey and Brendan Cain and Jordan Gualtieri, great grandchildren; Lydia, Lincoln, Leon, Dominick and Brella. Also surviving, a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Frank Tucciarone, Clinton, a brother, Victor Valerio, Utica, a brother-in-law, Dr. Dominick Nuccio, Rome, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Pat "Red", a son, Ronald Gualtieri, a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Noble Anthony and Muriel Valerio, a sister Yolanda Nuccio, and nephew Dr. Robert Nuccio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 12:00 noon at St. John the Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:15 – 11:45 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
