Obituary of Dannie J. Cronian

Dannie J. Cronian Dannie J. Cronian, 78, of New Hartford, NY, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015 at New York State Veterans Home, Oxford, NY. He was born in Ingleside, TX, on September 13, 1936, son of the late Jesse J. and Stacy Palmero Cronian. Dannie was a graduate of Georgia Southern College, Savannah, GA. On August 13, 1970, he married Margherita Gimelli in Anchorage, AK. Dannie retired as a Major from the U.S. Air Force at Luke Air Force Base, Phoenix, AZ. He received Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. Dannie was a member of Living Faith Bible Church, Sauquoit, and New Hartford American Legion Post 1376. Surviving besides his wife, Margherita "Rita", is a daughter, Louise Cronian, New Hartford, two grandchildren; Jeremy Gilmore and Samantha Gilmore, Phoenix, AZ. Also surviving are a brother, Robert Cronian, a sister, LaDonna Goehler, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Marian Gilmore. The family would like to express a special thank you to the nurses and staff at New York State Veteran's Home, Oxford, NY, to good friend, Louie Gimelli of Utica, and to their Lobdell friends from Syracuse. Memorial services will be held Friday, March 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Living Faith Bible Church, 2922 Oneida St., Sauquoit, where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., Rome, NY.
