Carol Cassese Lodico Carol A. Lodico, 68, of Rome, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 27, 2015 at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born in Rome, NY on December 5, 1946. Carol was raised by Pasquale Cassese and her mother Helen Butters Cassese. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. Carol was a former employee of Stonehedge Nursing Home. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Rome Police Department Ladies Auxiliary and was an avid pitch player. Surviving are four sons and two daughters-in-law; John and Dawn Wade, Lakeland, FL, Paul Wade and Mary Snell, Utica, Michael and Caroline Smith and James Smith all of Rome, several cherished grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Also surviving are four brothers and two sisters-in-law; Joseph and Erna Cassese, DE, Mark Cassese, John Cassese, James and Deborah Cassese all of Rome; three sisters and a brother-in-law; Ella and Patrick Dangerfield; Agnes Ecker and fiancé Paul Pratt, all of Rome and Donna Elizondo, VA, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa Renee Smith, her parents Pasquale and Helen Cassese and a brother Pasquale "Mickey" Cassese. Funeral Services for Carol and her mother, Helen Cassese will be held together at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at 5:00 p.m., with Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home for Carol and Helen, on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family.
