Philip Peter Schillaci, Sr. Philip Peter Schillaci Sr., 69, Rome died peacefully in his home on Friday April 17, 2015. He was born on October 24, 1945 in Rome, NY son of the late Joseph C. and Bambina Volpe Schillaci. Philip graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1963. On May 12, 1972 he married Jacqueline "Chickie" Barone. Phil graduated from Morrisville College, where he was a member of the Beta Theta Gamma fraternity. Phil graduated from Lemoyne College in Syracuse, NY where he received his Bachelor's degree. His academic success served him well in his professional career; as he went on to own Schillaci Insurance Agency for over twenty years and recently became associated with CH Insurance, Syracuse, where he remained on the staff to continue serving his many loyal customers. Phil was a pillar of the community. Many family and friends frequently teased him that he should have run for mayor. Phil was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Toccolana Club, Galliano Club, and Rome Elks Club.
