Obituary of Norine N. Dandino

Norine N. Dandino Norine N. Dandino, 101, of Rome passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Betsy Ross Nursing Facility. She was born in Rome, NY, on December 10, 1913, daughter of the late Ferdinand and Francesca Cimina Francescone. Norine was a 1933 graduate of Rome Free Academy. On November 23, 1935 she married Ardie P. Dandino in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away June 14, 1993. Norine was a receptionist for Dr.'s Frank and James Brognano DDS and was also formerly employed at Griffiss Air Force Base. Norine was a member of St. Peter's Church and a former member of South Rome Senior Citizens. She enjoyed Sunday gatherings at her house making sauce, pizza and pizza fritta for her family and friends. Norine also enjoyed making layette sets for the many newborn babies in the family and also giving her grandchildren and great grandchildren their first bath. Surviving are two sons and two daughters-in-law; Ardie and Kathryn Dandino, VA, Fred and Pam Dandino, FL, three daughters and two sons-in-law; Mary and John Saffle, TX, Patricia and Eugene Sanborn, Rome, JoAnn Dandino, VA, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and a sister-in-law, Magda Francescone, VA. She was predeceased by three brothers; Ferdinand, Alberino and Fred Francescone, two sisters; Ceclia Rossi and Dorothy Ferlo. The family would like to express a thank you to granddaughters Kristin and Amy for their loving care and attention shown to Norine throughout the years. Also, a special thank you to the staff at Betsy Ross Nursing Facility especially caregivers Carol Morrill, Mandy, Cindy and Leslie for all their loving care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 23, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Church. Private burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
