Rocco "Bucky" G. Giardino Rocco "Bucky" G. Giardino, 93, of Rome, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rome, NY on September 14, 1922 son of the late Frank and Mary Ann Roto Giardino. Bucky proudly served his country in WWII with the U.S. Navy as an armed guard. On October 6, 1952, he married Georgette M. Solomon in Ottawa, Canada. She passed away on April 1, 2015. Bucky was co-owner with his wife and son of Bucky and Georgette's Sub Shop. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and lifetime member of Rome VFW. Surviving are a son, Michael R. Giardino, Rome, a granddaughter, Julia and her husband Kareem Soto, New Jersey and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Georgette, a daughter, Agnes Giardino Gallucci, three brothers; Carl, Fred and Tom Giardino, three sisters; Helen Migliori, Sara Corigliano, and Agnes Sparace. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Cemetery Chapel. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J.
