Stephanie G. Ottavio ROME, NEW YORK and QUEENSBURY, NEW YORK / STEPHANIE G. OTTAVIO, age 88, passed away on Tuesday April 5, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Stephanie was born in Rome, New York on August 1, 1927 to Antonio Cimo and Nellie (Smaldone) Cimo in a close family of seven children. Stephanie attended Catholic and public schools in Rome, New York and graduated from high school in the class of 1945. She was employed at several locations in the Rome, New York area including Pettibone Manufacturing, Griffiss Air Force Base, the Rome Developmental Center ( formerly known as the Rome State School) and for the New York Department of Corrections as a senior stenographer and administrative secretary. Stephanie was a loving spouse and mother who especially enjoyed spending time with family and lifelong friends. She was a great cook and in her younger years she enjoyed golfing, dancing, quilting and travel. For a period of time after her "retirement" from New York State employment she fulfilled a lifelong dream to own and operate Glens Falls Real Estate from her home office on Platt Street in Glens Falls. Stephanie was pre deceased by her first husband Carmello (Bucky) Ottavio in 1977. She was also predeceased by her brother Mariano Cimo, her sisters Connie Vaccaro and Rosemary Barbato and her twin brother Edward Cimo, leaving her brothers Frank Cimo and Joseph ("Pep") Cimo surviving. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul B. Ottavio and children Lindalea Muller( and her husband Michael), Laverne Mc Andrew ( and her husband C. James), Paul Ottavio ( and his wife Joy) as well as eight grandchildren: Daniel V. Muller, Adrienne Muller-Goldstein, George J. Muller, Matthew Koons, Joshua Koons, J. Benjamin Mc Andrew, Elizabeth G. Mc Andrew and Paul Ottavio. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Stephanie will always be remembered fondly as a loving and caring person devoted to friends and family. She had a smile that could brighten any day and most of all she enjoyed hearing and then re-telling a good joke. Her kindness and compassion for others will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, NY, with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Friends and family may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home Inc., 7751 Merrick Road, on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
