Vincent S. Migliori Mr. Vincent S. Migliori, 92 of Rome passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Bethany Gardens. Vincent was born in Rome, New York on March 14, 1924, son of the late Rocco and Maria (Verro) Migliori. He graduated from Rome Free Academy. He was married to the former Helen E. Swierczewski on July 5, 1944. She passed away in May of 2009 after over 64 years of marriage. Mr. Migliori was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran serving as a Seabee, during WW II he saw action in the Asiatic Campaign. A barber by trade for over 70 years, Vinny served many generations of people. He had been the owner and operator of Vince's Barber Shop in Rome. He was a member of Transfiguration Church and a life member of the Polish Home. Vinny had a hard work ethic which he passed on to his family, he believed that the secret to a long life was working hard. He loved to be surrounded by family, friends, and food. His favorite pastime was spending time caring for his vegetable and flower gardens. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law Vincent J. and Pat Migliori of Western; a daughter, Rita Garvey of Pennsylvania; his grandchildren Christine Tyrlik of Western; Vincent P. and Marlies Migliori of Queens, New York, and Alex and Heather Cianfrocco of Pennsylvania; two great-grandchildren, Paul and Kay Tyrlik of North Carolina; and a brother Larry Migliori of Rome. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Cianfrocco; a son-in-law Michael Garvey; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony and Helen and Rocco and Jenny Migliori; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Anna Migliori, and recently Patricia and Baldino DeProspero; and a sister-in-law, Rose Migliori. Vincent's family would like to thank all of the staff of Woodland at the Terrace, they provided great care and compassion to Vinny and his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 25, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Transfiguration Church where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The family will greet friends at church following the funeral Mass. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Road. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Polish Home, 415 S. George Street, Rome, New York 13440.
