Obituary of Ralph "Cheech" F. Pereto

Ralph "Cheech" F. Pereto, Sr. Ralph "Cheech" F. Pereto, Sr., 79 of Rome, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse, with his family by his side. He was born in Rome, NY, on July 10 1936 son of the late John Sr. and Edna Davis Pereto. Ralph graduated from Rome Free Academy. He served with the U.S. Army from 1957- 1960. In 1968 Ralph married Judy Perkins in St. Mary's Church. She passed away in 2006. Ralph retired in 1995, after twenty-five years from Rome DDSO. He was a member of HP Smith Post #24 American Legion, VFW Rome Post #2246 and the former Rome Moose Club. Cheech touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Surviving are a daughter, Christine Finley, Rome, a son and daughter-in-law, Ralph F. Jr., and Jodi Pereto, PA, five grandchildren; Dylan, Emilee, Alec, Chase and Darren. Also surviving are three brothers and a sister-in-law, John Pereto Jr., Alfred Pereto, Roger and Mary Pereto, all of Rome and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Judy, twin daughters; Kathy and Kimberly Pereto, a brother, Richard Pereto, three sisters; Jessica Dunn, Edna Keyes and Betty Hall. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff of 9F at Upstate University Hospital for their care and concern shown to Ralph. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 7:00 p.m., at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery.
