Mamie E. Guggi Mamie E. Guggi, 85, of Rome passed away unexpectedly, Monday, June 20, 2016 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Frankfort, NY, on March 14, 1931 to Joseph and Rosalia Reina Puleo. Mamie was educated in Frankfort schools. On April 23, 1955, she married the love of her life Daniel M. Guggi, Sr. at St. Mary's Church in Frankfort, NY with the Reverend Michael Fufferd officiating. Mamie worked at Star's Department Store and Mutual Distributing for many years. She was a member and past president of the Marion Guild of St. John the Baptist Church. Mamie also served and volunteered on several church committees. She had many cherished friends in Rome and she enjoyed many winters in Dunedin, FL spending time with family and with special friends at Golden Acres. Mamie was an avid sports fan cheering on her favorite baseball team, the New York Mets and suffering through the Boston Red Sox games. She also enjoyed attending many sporting events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her loving husband of 61 years, Daniel, she is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Daniel Jr. (Cindy) Guggi, of Rome, David (Cheri) Guggi, of Dunedin, FL and Albert Guggi of Las Vegas, NV. She also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren and their spouses, Alissa (John) Sparace, of Rome, Jennifer Guggi, of Dunedin, FL, Jessica (Russ) Madry of Palm Harbor, FL, Dan (Pam) Guggi, of Buffalo, NY, Julie (Jeremy) Parker, of Oldsmar, FL, and DJ Guggi, of Dunedin, FL. Mamie also leaves five cherished great-grandchildren, Marco & Donte Sparace, Gracie & Tillie Parker, and Olivia Guggi. Mamie had many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that she leaves behind. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers, Paul Sr., Joseph, Frank, Peter, Salvatore, Constantino, James, John, Angelo, and Dominick Puleo and a sister, Pauline Grates. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. John the Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 210 E.
