Marie P. Cianchetti Marie P. Cianchetti, age 91, of Rome, passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, on Thursday July 28, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born on September 24, 1924 in Rome, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Angela (Martarano) Quattrocchi. Marie was a 1942 graduate of Rome Free Academy. On September 7, 1946, she married Armand Cianchetti, her beloved "Randy" and had a blessed union of 32 years. He passed away November 14, 1978. Marie was employed for 30 years at Griffiss Air Force Base traveling extensively on TDY. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, the GALS Club and was an avid bowler and golfer. Marie enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and loved to cook for her family. Her most pleasant times were family holidays, cooking and baking for days ahead, taking great pride in preparing all the family favorites to perfection. In her later years, she and her daughter Nancy, also known as "Lewis and Clark", would venture to Florida to spend time with her son Joe, stopping to visit relatives along the way. Her favorite pastime of all was watching her Yankees on TV. Marie, along with her family and friends spent many weekends and summer vacations at camp in Alex Bay, opening doors to anyone who wanted to come up. Marie is survived by her loving children, daughters Nancy Stone, Orchard Park, NY, Phyllis Parry, Rome and son Joseph Cianchetti, Florida and Alex Bay, NY. She especially enjoyed hearing of the adventures of her grandchildren Gregory (Renee) Stone, Matthew (Kristy) Stone, Kristina (Michael) Jancar and Amanda (Santino) Bonanza and her nine great-grandchildren Gregory and Sidney Stone, Michael and Gianna Marie Jancar, Ryan, Karly Marie and Elias Stone and Santino Jr. and Gennaro Bonanza and several special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Armand and sisters Connie Vaccaro and Margaret McCartney and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Marie's love and devotion to her family was something special and will never be forgotten. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 1, 2016 at St. Paul's Church at 11:30 a.m., with the Rev. Robert Kelly officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
