Obituary of Alice B Fiore
Alice Brennan Fiore
1938 - 2025
Alice Brennan Fiore, 86, of Rome, my beautiful Irish wife, my soulmate, and the love of my life, went to Heaven on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born on March 19, 1938, in Auburn, NY, daughter of the late William and Hannah Brennan. Alice and I (Bud Fiore) had a fairytale courtship: we met at The Beeches New Year's Eve 1961; got engaged New Year's Eve 1962; and got married July 6, 1963, in St. Mary's Church, Auburn, NY, a union of nearly 63 years together. Those of you who knew my wife can attest to her wonderful personality and contagious smile. Alice's love of family was always her top priority and spending time with her children and grandchildren was very precious to her. She adored her family and was devoted to her faith, having been a lifelong member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Alice often remarked to us that foremost in her life was "God and Family" and her one main wish was that all her grandchildren stay close to God.
Alice was educated in Auburn public elementary schools, and graduated from Holy Family High School, class of 1956. She received her BS degree from SUNY Oswego in 1959, where she also became a member of Arethusa National Sorority. A lifelong educator, Alice initially began her career in Rochester, NY and then taught in Rome for 26 years as a Kindergarten and First Grade teacher. Alice truly loved her profession and was indeed a natural and gifted teacher. All the children adored her! Even after retirement, she continued to be a substitute teacher in Rome up until she was 80 years old!
Alice was also a former member of Twigs, Delta Omega Sorority, the Red Hat Society, Rome Teachers Association, and New York State United Teachers. She taught religious education at St. Paul's Church for many years and brought communion to shut- ins.
In addition to her husband, Naz "Bud" Fiore, she is survived by her four beloved children: David (Paola) Fiore, Rome Italy; Mary (Jeff) Perkins, Rochester, NY; Kristin (David) Hughes, Pittsford, NY; Catherine (Lee) Selke, Honeoye Falls, NY; eleven cherished grandchildren: Alyssa Fiore, Chiara Fiore (Rome, Italy); Zachary (Alyssa) Perkins, Dr. Jacob Perkins, David Perkins; Clayton Hughes, Kelsey Hughes, Shannon Hughes; Tyler Selke, Hannah Selke, Tanner Selke; one beautiful great-granddaughter Brooklyn Joy Perkins, and one soon-to-be great-granddaughter; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Marella Fiore, brother-in-law Henry Zucker and many devoted nephews, nieces and cousins.
Besides being predeceased by her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Paul and three sisters: Mary, Jean, and Lorraine. Alice was also predeceased by her sister-in-law, Virginia Brennan, brother-in-law, Donald Sagers, father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Slim and Mary Fiore, and sister-in-law Angela Fiore Zucker.

Unseen, unheard, but always near.
