David Daniel Fiorini

1948 – 2025

David Daniel Fiorini, 76, of Rome, NY, passed away unexpectedly in the hands of the Lord, from a major hemorrhagic stroke, with his family by his side, on Tuesday March 25, 2025. He was born in Rome, NY on November 30, 1948, the youngest son of the late Anthony and Gertrude Vitale Fiorini. Dave was educated in Rome City schools, and furthered his education at the College of Saint Rose, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. On April 26, 1975, Dave was united in marriage to Cecilia LaMonica, in Rome, NY; a blessed union of nearly 50 years. He was employed as a Sales Rep for Nabisco Foods, and a District Manager of Gibson Greeting Cards, until their closure. Dave eventually went on to work for his brother Tony at Centurion Automotive until his retirement.

Dave’s true passions were spending Sunday dinners with his family, eating delicious food, and laughing until his stomach hurt. He especially enjoyed playing cards and bocce with his closest friends at the Toccolana Club, maintaining his meticulous lawn, washing his car, and watching sports. His three children and six grandchildren were his prized possessions, and he was so proud of all they accomplished. He could always be found with a suit and tie on, on the sidelines or in the bleachers, watching all their sporting events.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Cecilia, two sons; David (Danielle) Fiorini, and Aaron (Carrie) Fiorini, a daughter, Brittany (Nicholas) Antonio, six grandchildren that he absolutely adored; Joseph Fiorini, AJ Fiorini, Hayden Fiorini, Mia Antonio, Gianna Antonio, and Santino Antonio. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Silvia Fiorini, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank and Barbara LaMonica, Sam and Maureen LaMonica, niece, Maria (Michael) Gomes, nephews, Mark (Michelle) Fiorini, Dan (Lori) Fiorini, Logan Hoppe, Bobby (Katie) Hoppe, nieces and nephews, Frank LaMonica, Audra (John) Forste, Peter (Anissa) LaMonica, Christina (Carey) Phair, Meghan (Andrew) Lawrence, and Samuel (Nichole) LaMonica, as well as numerous cousins, great nieces and great nephews. Dave is predeceased by his parents, Anthony P. and Gertrude Fiorini, brother, Anthony Fiorini, and Father-in Law and Mother-in-Law, Frank and Jennie LaMonica.

A special heartfelt thank you to the staff at Wynn hospital, especially Katie Boone, for helping make Dave as comfortable as possible and supporting us through this difficult time. Also, the family would like to thank neighbors, Bob, Deanna, and Dylan Cook, Jared and Aimee Brown, as well as family and friends who went above and beyond for our family. We also extend a special thank you to Dave’s Toccolana Club family, especially Mike Ferlo, Ron Carollo, and Curtis Corr, for their time and compassion.
