Kimberly Marie Gorczyca
1988 – 2025
Kimberly M. Gorczyca, 36, of Rome, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY, surrounded by family and friends.
Kimberly was born in New Hartford, NY, on June 25, 1988, to David and Marilyn (Gail) Bryant Gorczyca. Kimmy graduated from Rome Free Academy Class of 2006. She enjoyed playing basketball and softball. Kimmy started out playing baseball with the Rome American Little League and then started playing softball. She played softball from Jr. High through High school for the Lady Knights. She also played for the Ruckus Travel Softball League for years. Kimmy played on the Lady’s Rebels Basketball team and was a manager for the RFA Lady Knights Basketball Team.
After High School, Kimmy worked for KFC for a few years then worked at the Bingo Hall at Turning Stone Casino for about six years. She also enjoyed spending time playing Bingo with many of her friends and acquaintances. Kimmy moved to North Carolina for ten years where she also met and made numerous friends and close relationships.
Kimberly is survived by her mother, Marilyn (Gail) Gorczyca, brother, Robert (Jen) Gorczyca of Huntersville, NC, Michael (Jennifer) Gorczyca, of Charlotte, NC, twin brother, Adam Gorczyca, of Rome, NY, and nephews; Jakob and Arin and nieces; Venus and Onna. Kimberly is preceded in death by her father, David Gorczyca, maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, NY. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m., prior to the service.
