Joseph A. Consiglio, Jr.
1930 – 2025
Joseph A. Consiglio, Jr., 94, of Rome, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Rome Health with his family by his side. He was born in Rome, NY, on September 4, 1930, son of the late Joseph and Marie C. Deleone Consiglio. Joe was educated in Rome Schools. He served with the U.S. Army from 1951, and was honorably discharged in 1953. On October 2, 1954 he married Virginia Petrelli, in St. John the Baptist Church. Joe was a former employee of Pettibone Corp., and retired from Griffiss Air Force Base as a machinist. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, and life-time member of the Toccolana Club and Galiano Club.
Surviving besides his wife Virginia is a son, Mark (Karen) Consiglio, two daughters, Vickie DiMaggio and Michele Consiglio, all of Rome, seven grandchildren; Vincent, Nicole (James), Alexandra, Jennifer (Michael), Mark (Kayla), Matthew and Victoria (Michael), and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Dolores (Billie) Williams, sisters-in-law, Margaret Consiglio, Marie Petrelli and Anita Petrelli, and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by four brothers and five sisters; Mike Consiglio (Ester), Rose Szczesniak (Hank), Angelo Consiglio (Anna), (Shirley), Felicia Pirillo (Angelo), Lucy Kaczmarski (Joseph), Jenny Kenny (Richard), Daniel Consiglio (Margaret), Antonio “Bucky” Consiglio (Rose) and Florence Weber (Robert), brothers-in-law, Anthony Petrelli and Joseph Petrelli.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday May 12, 2025 at 6:00 p.m., at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 4 – 6 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery with Military Honors.
