Yale Moore Rich

1960 – 2025

Yale Moore Rich, 65, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday May 06, 2025, at Wynn Hospital in Utica, NY, He was born in Montclair, NJ on January 22, 1960, an only child of the late Howard and Madeline Moore Rich. Yale graduated from James Caldwell High School in New Jersey and then attended Automotive Tech School. He worked in various automotive repair roles, drove truck for several years, and was also a bus driver. Yale lived in Lowville, NY for many years before moving to Rome, where he and his longtime partner, Lori Ann Mercurio Misurda, made many wonderful memories together.

Yale loved to spend time with his cat, Sadie, and work outside at the house. He also enjoyed reading NHRA Drag Racing magazines and watching the NY Mets and Buffalo Bills. Yale loved to fish, watch T.V. and make sure to go to Dunkin Donuts every day for his coffee. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. He also liked to help his friends and neighbors whenever they needed a helping hand. Yale will be missed by everyone who loved him and his memory will live on through all those that knew him and loved him. He was a special man and we will miss him very much.

Yale is survived by his longtime partner, Lori Ann Mercurio Misurda, of 22 years. Their favorite song was “I can’t smile without you”, by Barry Manilow.
