1930 - 2025
Jayne A. Waller, 95, of Rome, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025, at Bethany Gardens with loving family members by her side. Born April 4, 1930, in Rockville Center, Long Island, she was the daughter of the late Alva H. and Helen E. (Kamp) Pearsall.
Jayne was a graduate of Rome Free Academy in the Class of 1948. On Aug. 21, 1948, she was married to John E. Waller of Rome, who passed away in 2001. They were married for over 52 years and together raised a loving family.
Family and friends meant the world to Jayne, who was full of light and love, and kind to everyone she met. Family members enjoyed traveling to their parents’ home when they lived for a time in Shelburne, Vt., and later at the family homestead on Lake Delta. Jayne loved being around the water, swimming and boating with family and friends, and spending time at the Lake Delta Yacht Club.
Jayne is survived by four children, Barbara and husband Andrew Demski of Englewood, FL, Patricia and husband Carmen Ferlo of Rome, David and wife Janet Waller of Smithfield, VA, and Robert Waller of Holly Springs, NC; Also surviving are a sister, Candace Pearsall of Longwood, FL; 13 grandchildren, Laura, Megan, Joshua, Jeremy, Marc, Jennifer, Matthew, Darcy, David, Eva, Wren, Shawna and Kyle; and 15 great grandchildren, Mark, Andrew, Hunter, Alex, Brooke, Taylor, Carmen, Caleb, Cathy, Nate, Colin, Harper, Ewan, Riley and Madison, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband John, she was predeceased by grandchildren Michael, Melissa and Christopher, as well as great grandson David, and a sister, Mary Lou Pfister.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday June 27, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, N.Y. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery beside her beloved husband John (Jack).
