Douglas W. Pekola

1971 – 2025

Douglas W. Pekola, 54, of Clifton Park, NY, and Rome, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025, with his loving family by his side.  He was born in Rome, NY, on August 8, 1971, son of Douglas Wayne and Donna Ellinger Pekola.  Doug was a graduate of Rome Catholic High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Albany.  He was a Compliance Specialist at Broadview Credit Union in Albany, NY.  Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving is a son, Ryan Pekola, and a daughter, Samantha Pekola, both of Rexford, NY, his mother, Donna Pekola of Rome.  Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, David and Michele Pekola, Berea, KY, a niece, Ashley Pekola and a nephew, Jacob Pekola and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was predeceased by his father, Douglas Wayne Pekola. 

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September  17, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, NY 13440.  Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 -6 p.m., prior to the funeral service. Private burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
