Palma Ciotti


1929 – 2025


Palma Ciotti, 96, of Rome, NY, passed away unexpectedly, on Friday, September 19, 2025 at home.  She was born in Rome, NY, on March 24, 1929, daughter of the late Louis and Antoinette Condella Schipano.  Palma was educated in Rome Schools.  On February 28, 1948 she married Angelo R. Ciotti, in St. John the Baptist Church.  She retired from Rome Developmental Center.  Palma was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.  She enjoyed their camp at Hinkley and was an avid New York Yankees fan.  Palma especially looked forward to holiday gatherings, the Ciotti Family picnics and loved to cook and bake.


Surviving are three sons, Louis A. Sr., (Patricia) Ciotti, Ronald (Julie) Ciotti and Michael Ciotti, Sr.,  a daughter, Mary (Rocco) Gerace, grandchildren; Louis A. Jr., (Rebecca) Ciotti, Jaime Ciotti, Paulette (Matthew) Johnson, Angelo (Cathy) Ciotti, Michelena (Matt) Clarke, Marlana Gerace, Melanie  (Kaitlyn) Gerace, Gina Ciotti, Nicholas (Ariana) Ciotti, Angelina (Dakota) McLean and Michael Ciotti, Jr. fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.


Palma was predeceased by her husband, Angelo R. Ciotti (July 16 1997), a son, Angelo L. Ciotti (August 22, 2009) a granddaughter, Sharon L. Ciotti (February 22, 2021), brothers and sisters; Michelina Belmont, Gaetano Belmont, Pasquale Belmont, Peter Belmont, Frank  (Mary) Belmont, Caroline (Rocco) Versace, Louis (Rosemary) Schipano, Rose (Thomas) Cardillo, Nora (Tasos) Haritatos,Anthony  (Evelyn) Schipano and Mary (Anthony) DeBonzo.


The family would like to express a special thank you to Nascentia Health Home Care Services, especially Kelly, Donna, Melissa and Stacy.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick St., Rome, NY.  Relatives and friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, NY, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 4-7 p.m.  Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
