Anne Farraggio Corigliano
1926 – 2025
Anne Farraggio Corigliano, 99, of Rome, passed away peacefully at Wynn Hospital, Utica, N.Y., on Wednesday October 1, 2025, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Rome, N.Y. on March 23, 1926, daughter of the late John and Philomena Panaresa Farraggio. Anne was educated in Rome schools. On July 1, 1944, she married Nazare D. Corigliano in St. John the Baptist Church, Rome. He passed away on September 29, 2013.
Anne was a waitress at The Greenbriar and Candyland Restaurant. She also worked at Rome Manufacturing and the White Laundry. Anne enjoyed the time she spent working at Staley Jr. High School in Rome as a Teacher’s Aide and was fondly called “Mrs. C.” Her last job was at the Rome Developmental Center, in the Laundry Department. Anne also loved volunteering at Rome Developmental Center in the “Grandmother Program.” Every family member received at least one of her homemade Afghans. She also crocheted many infant hats for the newborns in the Maternity Ward of Rome Hospital. Anne was an active member of the South Rome Senior Center, where she loved to play Bingo, and enjoy going on various bus trips. She was also a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Anne was a great cook and baker, and her meatballs have yet to be duplicated! Her husband Nazare was an avid hunter, and she could make any game he brought home taste delicious, while also hosting many game dinners for her family and friends. The family loved her Anisette Toast cookies, and crustellas, especially at Christmas time.
Anne is survived by her children; Carol Vescio, of Rome, Gennaro and Lynda Corigliano, of Cicero, and Catherine Destito, of Rome, nine cherished grandchildren; Rina Corigliano-Hart (Fred), Philip Vescio III, Anne Marie Corigliano, Mark (Tobra) Vescio, Matthew Vescio, Gennaro D. Corigliano, Carla Destito, John (Kaylee) Destito, Mary Vescio and (David Mondi), eight cherished great-grandchildren; Alyssa Clayton, Ella, Matthew and Timothy Vescio, Megan and Anthony Hart, and Aubree and John P. Destito. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law; Peter and Isabelle Corigliano, and Catherine Corigliano. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Philomena, her husband Nazare, two sisters and three brothers; Nora LaMarco, Mary (Kostyn) Tyksinski, James (Mary) Farraggio, Joseph Farraggio, and Sam (Margarel) Farraggio, her son-in-law, Philip Vescio II, eight sisters-in-law, eight brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
The family is forever grateful for the kindness and compassion shown by the staff at Wynn Hospital. The family would like to also send a special thank you to Dr. Mohammed Seedat for his care throughout the years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday October 07, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 210 E. Dominick St., Rome, N.Y. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the Church, prior to the funeral mass. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
