Patrick Cowley

1952 – 2026

Patrick Cowley, 73, of Rome, passed away on Sunday January 25, 2026. He was born on March 13, 1952, son of the late Lansing W. and Edith Collins Cowley, II. Patrick was a very loving, caring, and funny man. He was often referred to as the “life of the party”, as he enjoyed telling jokes and stories. Patrick was an avid N.Y. Yankees fan and enjoyed watching their games on t.v.  He also loved to watch old western movies. Patrick also enjoyed playing the Lotto scratch off cards.

Patrick is survived by his twin brother, Michael Cowley, nieces, Marcia Postal, Tracy (Felix) Rodriguez, Joanne Cowley (Donald Fredenburg), Sandy (Gene) Zagorski, nephew Lansing (Blythe Cowley), as well as several other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Lansing and Edith Cowley, as well as brothers, Lansing W. Cowley, III, Donald Cowley, Carl Cowley, Ellsworth Cowley, and Ricky Cowley. 

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Central New York DSO Community Homes IRA #9 in Rome for their care and compassion for Patrick.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, on Thursday January 29, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00p.m. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Utica, N.Y.
