Joann G. Ross

June 7, 1946 - April 16, 2026

Joann G. Ross went to be with our Lord on April 16, 2026.

She was born on June 7, 1946, in Gouverneur, NY, a daughter of the late Melvin and Wilhelmina Cunningham Sayers. Jo was a graduate of Westmoreland High School, Class of 1964. On August 8, 1964, she was united in marriage to the love of her life and best friend, Nicholas F. Ross, in a ceremony which took place in Gouverneur. Nicholas predeceased Jo on November 29, 1987. Jo worked, for 27 years, as a Therapy Aide for the Rome DDSO. She retired in September of 1996, due to a disability.

She loved spending time with her son and was an avid New York Yankees fan. In her spare time, Jo enjoyed playing pitch and painting.

Jo is survived by her son, Nicholas M. Ross; twin sister, Diann and brother-in-law, Richard Ferraiola; nieces, Tina (Mark) Garner and Mary (Brian) Rahn, Kelly (Dean) Jenne and Sue (Randy) Morrison; a sister-in-law, Lisa Sayers; nieces, Amanda Sayers, Amber (Gregory) Turk and Adrianna (Russell) Curtiss.

She was predeceased by her only grandson, Michael Allen Ross, on July 28, 1986, at one month of age; a sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Peter Story; and brother, Jeffery Sayers.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
