Rosemary A. (Genovese) D’Amore

1929 – 2026

Rosemary A. D’Amore, 96, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 16, 2026, at Betsy Ross Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Rome, N.Y. on November 20, 1929, daughter of the late John and Blanche Compara Genovese. Rosemary married Dominick V. D’Amore in 1948, a blessed union of nearly 50 years. He passed away in August of 1995.

Rosemary enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, as well as the family dog, Shadow. She also loved painting and crocheting in her spare time.

Surviving are two daughters, Andrea (Barry) Thaler, and Donna and Andy Sweet, a son, Anthony A. D’Amore (Leanore T. Checchi) and a brother, John Genovese, as well as several grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Blanche, husband, Dominick, a son, Andrew D’Amore, a sister, Jacqulyn Saeger, and a brother, Joseph A. Genovese.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday May 21, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 7751 Merrick Rd., Rome, N.Y. 13440. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
