Q: How would you describe Patrick to someone who had never met them?
A: One of A kind that’s for sure. Anyone who had the pleasure growing up with knew he was as pure of a friend one would ever been so lucky to come across. His personality said it all.

Pat was a childhood friend that I met in 4th grade. As with many childhood friend, I lost touch with Pat because my family moved away. But that never took away from the character of Pat. Even his countenance, you can see what a welcoming, caring and funny person he was.
As I shared with his brother, Matt, he used to tease me as a kid always threatening my eyeballs! It was all jokes but we had fun. We always got along very well. He had a way of making himself comfortable and thus, making you feel comfortable. I remember his laugh; how he would throw his head back and give a true belly laugh with that 'larger than life', smile. You could see even from childhood that there was a not a cruel bone in his body. That's how I remember him.
The world feels smaller now and I am still in disbelief. If I feel this way after losing a childhood friend, I truly know that Pat's family needs our comfort and prayer. In knowing this, I also know that God counts every tear and collects them in His heart. keeps track of all our sorrows. He has collected our tears in a bottle. and recorded each one in His book." Psalm 56:8
So my condolences to your family, Pat. Pat, you have not died, you have simply moved to another place. Your "Larger than Life" personality just outgrew your body. That's all. Now you can live freely amongst the truly free.
I want to share a passage from the scriptures. It comes from the book of 1 Thessalonians Chapter 4:13-18. It reads like this:
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.
Yes! Pat's memory will be kept alive through his family and friends; all who loved him.
