Kenneth E. Mondrick

1948 – 2026

Kenneth E. Mondrick, 77, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday June 24, 2026. He was born in Rome, N.Y. on December 01, 1948, son of the late Alex and Rose Horodnicki Mondrick. Ken was educated in Rome schools and graduated from Rome Free Academy, class of 1966. He served with the united States Army from 1968 to 1970. Ken was employed by Revere Copper and Brass in the Cast Shop. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as many other outdoor activities.  He also spent much of his free time volunteering at the Lee Legion cooking for veterans functions and parties.  Ken was a lifelong member of the Lee Legion, Point Rock Fish and Game Club, Lee Center Rod and Gun Club, and Stanwix Men’s Club.

Surviving are: his sons, Kevin and Keith (Kimberly), a daughter Nancy, and three grandchildren.  His partner and best friend, Dorothy Rundell and her granddaughter, Adrienne Rivard,  He is also survived by his brothers Robert (Mary Claire), James (Tammy), Martin (Shirley), and sister in law Lynne Mondrick,  his sister Rose Jones, (L. James). Also by several nieces, nephews, cousins and their children. He was predeceased by: his parents, brother John, sister Dorothy VanHoeven and brother in law Steven.

Memorial contributions in Kenneth’s name may be made to Lee Legion Post 1794, 9025 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Lee Center, N.Y. 13363.

Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
