I bought these to use in mini pitaslc jack-o-lanterns we hung on a Halloween tree in our yard. They fit perfectly inside the containers and the tree looked so cool all Halloween night. They really do flicker and just looked awesome illuminating those little containers. I am going to use them in our Christmas luminaries, I like them so much.I am very pleased with no more worries about the candles burning down or the wind blowing them out.

At my high school graduation Mr. & Mrs. Mattis gave me a dictionary that I used for years (there was no internet back then). Mrs. Mattis was thrilled to learn I was going to college in NYC and encouraged me to see and go to every public event and museum I could in the city, as it would be a shame not to. When she wanted to make a point she used some spicy phrases that still crack me up to this day.

Jeanne Mattis..A beautiful Warrior in a world where many were confused and trying to make the puzzle pieces fit, and make a life for themselves! There is probably not a story she has not listened to with thought and compassion!
Thank you for loving me when I had no love for myself, or no self dignity!

Jeanne was my math teacher in January 1982, when the Rome Teachers Association went out on strike. She was a loyal union supporter, but Regents exams were coming up, and she wanted her students to do well. Her solution was to hold review sessions in her home, on her own time. I can remember our class gathered in her living room, sharing snacks and reviewing probability and statistics. What a wonderful way to honor her commitment to the union and to her students at the same time!

SHE WAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE MY AA ANGEL. WITHOUT HER I WOULD SURELY BE DEAD. ONE FALL MORNING I REACHED OUT FOR HELP AND HELP I GOT--FROM A FRAIL, PETITE"POWERHOUSE". ONCE THE SHE ARRIVED AT MY HOUSE, I HAD SECOND THOUGHTS AND JEANNE WASN'T HAVING IT. SHE FORCED ME TO GET THE HELP I NEEDED. HERE I AM LATER WITH 20 YEARS OF SOBRIETY UNDER MY BELT.
