Caroline Trophia
Caroline Trophia, 93, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at SUNY Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, after a brief illness. Caroline was born on July 3, 1920 in Rome, NY the daughter of Joseph and Marietta Stumpo Vescio Marabella. On June 29, 1939 she was united in marriage to Pasquale (Pat) Trophia at St. John the Baptist Church. Pat passed away on May 22, 1988. Caroline was a lifelong homemaker, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.
Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Vincenzo Cannella II of Pittsburg, PA, a son and daughter-in law Patrick and Patricia (Puccio) Trophia of Rome; grandchildren Lynn Ann Cannella of Pittsburg, PA, Vincenzo Cannella III and his wife Sharon of Pittsburg PA, Lisa (Trophia) and her husband Sean Cronlund of Delmar, NY and Lori Ann (Trophia) and her husband Jacob DiBari of Rome; great grandchildren Sean Kihn, Jacqueline, Erica, Alexa and Aidan Cannella of Pittsburg, PA and Caroline, Miranda and Esmee Cronlund of Delmar, NY. Caroline was predeceased by brothers, Philip, Carl and James Vescio and sisters Rose Sanzone and Josephine Fera.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at St. John the Baptist Church at 12:00 pm where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., on Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in Caroline's name to Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington St., Rome, NY, 13440-4296.
