William E. Hepworth Sr. William E. Hepworth Sr., 70, 904 Floyd Avenue, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 in St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, with his family by his side. He was born January 15, 1937 in Brooklyn (Canarsie), NY, the son of William and Mary (Moss) Hepworth. On April 27, 1957, he married Jennie L. Madonia in St. John the Baptist Church. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Bill served in the US Air Force from 1954 to 1964 as an Aircraft Electrical Technician. He later worked for General Electric as a Test and Inspection Foreman, before beginning his career with the US Government as an Engineering Technician, retiring in September 1983. After retirement he worked for Abacus Technology as an Air Traffic Control Engineer until deciding to enjoy retirement on a full time basis. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Bill enjoyed wood working and sharing that love with others. No matter what the project, he "had a tool for that". He was a great teacher and influence on his children, sons-in-law and grandchildren. He was blessed with a loving family and many good friends, whom he enjoyed spending time with. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Jennie; his three children, Kathleen (Richard) Bessette, Syracuse, William Hepworth, Jr., Rome, Diane (Richard) Coriale, Rome; five cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Jennifer Bessette, Nicole Hepworth and Christina and Anthony Coriale; and a great granddaughter, Alexis Gianna Crever; two sisters, Margaret (James) Santori, Brooklyn, and Mary Maugeri, Long Island; three brothers, Thomas Hepworth, Staten Island, Martin (Diane) Hepworth, Long Island, and George Hepworth, Long Island; in-laws, Mary and Carmen Natalie, Rome, Antoinette and Kris Koza, Buffalo, Anna and Ron Costello, Rome, Jill Hepworth, Florida, and Betty Anne Hepworth, Long Island; as well as many nieces and nephews and very close friends. Bill was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary; five brothers, Alfred, Ernest, Donald, John and Andrew; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rose and Sam Madonia; and in-laws, Angela Hepworth and Mario Maugeri. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:45 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St., and at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
