I was a very close friend of Danny's when we attended Armstrong College in Savannah, GA, in 1954-1956. He transferred to the University of Georgia in 1956 along with another friend of ours, Dr. Robert Woolsey. I lost track of Danny after graduating from GA in 1958 but reunited with him by checking around the town he was from, possibly Guyton, GA (?). We visited him and his wife when they were living in Phoenix, AZ. We kept up via e-mail for awhile and we found out they moved to New York state. Sadly, we lost tract of him again and we are so sorry we never saw him again.

Dannie was a good and faithful friend and neighbor to my Father In Law Jerry Schillo. They got to know each other late in life but quickly became friends. They enjoyed going to the New Hartford " Post" and spending time with other Vet's. As the great friend that he was, Dannie often drove Jerry to the VA in Syracuse and they would always stop at our house for a visit. I knew him to be a kind and dependable man. It was a privlage to know Dannie and he will be missed

Uncle Dan was my husband's uncle and namesake. We have had many a phone call over the past 23 years. He was so nice to call and check up on Dan and I and our 3 boys. We will miss him terribly and pray God's peace on his family during this time.

Dannie was my Mom's first cousin, they were very close and loved to pick on each other. When I made the decision to join the Air Force, he became my mentor for the entire twenty years. Always writing and keeping a close tabs on me. I was so grateful for all he did for me and I missed him so much.
Love and God Bless,
Betty Jean
