Obituary of Alex A. Conti

Alex A. Conti Alex A. Conti, 86, of Rome passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015 at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born in Rome, NY, on April 4, 1929 son of the late Anthony and Rose Lagatta Conti. Alex was a graduate of Rome Free Academy Class of 1947. Alex retired from the U.S. Postal Service after forty years of service. He also was employed at Vernon Downs for forty years. Alex was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. He also coached baseball for St. Aloysius Academy, acted as a referee for local high school men's and women's basketball and was inducted into the Rome Sports Hall of Fame. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Pfeil Conti, two sons; Alex and Mark Conti, daughter, Chris Conti, former wife Janet Maycock Conti and many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers Joseph and Anthony Conti. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Cemetery Chapel, with the Rev. Paul F.
