Obituary of Mary Ballard Carrado

Mary Ballard Carrado Mary B. Carrado, age 83, of Lisle, IL, formerly of Rome, NY, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017. She was born in Oneida, NY, on August 16, 1933, to her late loving parents, Earl and Alice Ballard. Marywas the cherished wife of the late Martin E. Carrado and beloved mother of Kathleen Carrado Gregar,Ph.D. and her husband, Joseph Gregar, Bolingbrook, IL; Jean Carrado Neis and her husband,Kevin Neis,Naperville, IL; Nick Carrado of Rome, NY; Diane Carrado Simmons, CPhT, and her husband, Wesley Simmons,Cypress, TX; and Amy Carrado, MBA, and her husband, Kurtis Studebaker, North Aurora, IL. Mary was the adored grandmother of Gregory and Justin Simmons; Emily, Elizabeth and Patrick Neis; Dean Martin and Adriana Carrado; Melissa Lubecki Pandillo; Tracy Gregar Ferak and Joseph Gregar Jr. Mary also is survived by six great-grandchildren, her sister Anne (Gene) McGinley, sisters-in-law Anna Carrado Frasca and Nancy Carrado, brother-in-law Raymond Carrado, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary had been a dental hygienist, a long-serving officer of the Consider Law Family Reunion, a member of St. Peter's Church Choir, and an active member of the Fort Stanwix Chapter of the DAR for many years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church, 200 N. James St., Rome. The family will receive friends following the Mass. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Advocate Charitable Foundation's Home Health & Hospice program for hospice services.
