Obituary of Antoinette M. Faro

Antoinette 'Nettie' M. Faro Antoinette "Nettie" M. Faro of Rome, Passed away Saturday December 3, 2011 at home with her family by her side. She was born in Rome, NY daughter of the late Joseph and Connie Magno Riolo. Nettie attended Rome schools. On January 1, 1940 she married Joseph A. Faro in St. John the Baptist Church. He passed away June 2, 1991. Nettie was the former owner and operator of Nettie's Beauty Salon for 35 years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and active member at the Ava Dorfman Senior Citizen Center. Nettie enjoyed square and western dancing and also won two contests in ballroom dancing. Nettie was a part of the Apollo Homes Development on Williams Road. She also enjoyed arts, crafts and sewing as a hobby. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Ned Grifasi, Rome; four brothers, Larry Riolo, Rome; Freddie Riolo, Las Vegas, NV; Orlando Riolo and Johnny Riolo, Rome; three sisters and a brother-in- law Mary Sparace, Rome; Ann and John Peconi, Syracuse; and Angie Guglielmo, Rome; and several nieces and nephews. Nettie was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Faro; six brothers, Vincent, Nick, Frank, Joseph, William, and Armando Riolo; and two sisters Isabelle Zarrelli and Josephine Squadrito. The family would like to express a special thank you to Hospice Care for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church where relatives and friends are invited to attend with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Private burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 210 E. Dominick St., Rome, NY 13440 or Hospice Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home Inc., 218 W. Court St., Rome.
