Josephine 'JoJo' A. Bird Mrs. Josephine "JoJo" A. Bird, 68, of Westmoreland, passed away on Friday February 8, 2013 at home. She was born on March 23, 1944, in Rome, NY, daughter of the late Salvatore and Amelia Fiore Emma. On May 22, 1965, in St. John the Baptist Church she married Bernard Bird, a wonderful marriage of 47 years. Josephine worked at the Stars Department Store and for her Aunt Rosemary's hair salon until giving birth to her daughter. Josephine had a love for cooking and baking for her family and friends. Her chocolate cake was a mainstay at all family gatherings. Josephine enjoyed camping trips and vacations with her family. She especiallylovedfamilygatheringswhere she could see all her aunts, uncles, and cousins. Josephine enjoyed going to Saturday mass at St. John the Baptist Church and seeing her friends at church. She loved all our cats, including our new one Sam. Sam used to lie on the bed and watch evening mass with her and slept on her stomach. "JoJo" will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Surviving besides her loving husband, Bernard, is her beloved daughter, Christine; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Donald Harrington, Taberg; a niece, Patty and her husband Scott Pilat; a nephew, Charles and his wife Carol Bates. Also surviving are many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews on both sides of the families including Jennet Redd and Mary Fiore, both of Rome; and Dolly Thayer, CA, who she talked to everyday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating, where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of St. John the Baptist Church or Humane Society of Rome. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W.
