Felicia Jo DeProspero Parker Felicia Jo DeProspero Parker, 85, of Route 233 in Westmoreland, passed away on Easter Sunday March 31st at the Rome Hospital Extended Care Facility after a long illness, with her loving husband Jack by her side. Felicia was born July 3, 1927 in Rome, NY, a daughter of the late Achilles (Nick) and Maria Lorenzoni DeProspero. Felicia grew up on River St. in Rome, and graduated high school in 1945 from Rome Free Academy. She was united in marriage to John (Jack) Parker, Sr. on October 16, 1954, at St. John the Baptist Church in Rome, NY a blessed union of 58 years. She worked the majority of her career in accounting and finance at Griffiss Air Force Base for ROAMA, SAC and RADC/Rome Laboratory, retiring after 33 years of dedicated federal service in 1992. While not working, Felicia was an active member of the St. John the Baptist Marian Guild and, as an avid cook, was a contributor to their yearly cookbook. She loved to dance. She was a devotee of the John Hayes O'Neill Dance Studio and she studied ballet at the Julliard School in New York City. Felicia enjoyed rug hooking, playing cards with family, and was well known for her fabulous holiday cookie baking. She is survived by her husband Jack; her daughter, Lynne Davis of Marietta, GA; and her two sons, John (Sharon) Parker, Jr. of Rome, and Dean (Nancy) Parker of Apex, NC. Felicia loved her five grandchildren, Barrett Davis and Anthony, Maria, Olivia, and Sophia Parker. She was predeceased by her sister, Ida DeProspero Paoletti, and brothers, John DeProspero, Aldo DeProspero, Baldino DeProspero, and Joseph DeProspero all of Rome NY. The family would like to provide a special thanks to the Rome Hospital Extended Care Facility for their loving care of Felicia since 2005. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 West Court Street and at St. John the Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Reverend Paul F. Angelicchio. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Residential Health Care Facility of Rome Memorial Hospital Activity Department, 1500 North James Street, Rome, NY 13440.
