Anna A. Izzo Anna A. Izzo, 83, of Rome, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility, Oneida. She was born in Rome, NY, on December 18, 1929, daughter of the late Frank and Guilia Nicolella Izzo. Anna was a graduate of Rome Free Academy, Class of 1947 and Utica College of Syracuse University, Class of 1970. She was a former employee of New York Telephone Co. for 23 years and retired in 1985 from Rome City School District, teaching eighth grade English at Staley Jr. High for fifteen years. Anna was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Rome Teachers Association, A.F.T., N.Y.U.S.T., Telephone Pioneers of America and Jervis Library Association. Surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Mary Izzo, Albert and Caroline Izzo . The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of the Vent Unit of Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility for their exceptional care given to Anna. Services will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Cemetery Chapel, with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. There are no calling hours.
