Obituary of Robert 'Trapper' J. Winters

Robert 'Trapper' J. Winters Robert "Trapper" J. Winters, 54, of Blossvale, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday May 21, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. He was born in Rome, N.Y. on December 24, 1958, son of the late Henry and Mary LaFave Winters. Bob was an avid outdoorsman, he especially loved hunting with his dogs. He raised German short-haired pointers and trained other dogs for hunting. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1977-1979 with the 41st Infantry, 2nd Armored Division. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Heidi Winters Mahle and Nicholas, of Rome; and his cherished grandchildren, Daniel and Sarah. Also surviving are his wife, Gemma Winters, Oneida; a sister, Theresa Winters, Ft. Myers, FL; a step sister, Lisa Paquette O'Neill, Auburn, PA; an aunt, Mary LaFave, Camden; and several cousins.
