Kathryn E. Cecilia Kathryn E. (George) Cecilia of Kingston, NY and formerly of Rome, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on July 1, 2013. She was born to Pangrazio and Margaret Giorgi in Rome, NY on July 5, 1928. "Katie" to all that knew her, attended Rome Free Academy, was a Cosmotologist for 30 years and earned an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts in 1977 from Clinton Community College. Katie was married to Leonidas "Legs" Cecilia for 57 years and raised their five children that included two sets of twins in Rome, NY. Katie was an exceptional, loving mother and the heart of her family. She kept her extended family together regardless of geographical locations between them and will be missed by all who knew her. Katie is survived by her five children, Carl Cecilia & wife Susan of Seabrook, TX, Paul J. Cecilia of Hopewell Jct., NY, Leonard Cecilia of Kingston, NY, Kathryn Cecilia-Rivera & husband Benjamin of Walden, NY, and Kristine Cecilia-Engh & husband James of Lehigh Acres, FL. Four Grandchildren: Paul W. Cecilia, Cosmo Cecilia, David VanDeMark, and Chloe Cecilia. Also surviving are three sisters: Mary Romano, Rose "Ro-Ro" Collier and Assunda "Sue" Ford, as well as 25 nieces nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Katie was preceded in death by her husband and two siblings; Vincent George and Linda Lagorotteria. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 8:15 a.m. from the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St and at St. John the Baptist Church at 9:00 a.m.where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that donations be sent to the Alzheimers Association or the American Heart Association.
