Beatrice C. Cook Beatrice C. Cook, 90 of Rome, passed into the hands of the Lord, and the loving arms of her husband Harold, with her family by her side on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, after a long illness. She was born in Jersey City, N.J., on May 5, 1923 daughter of the late Anthony and Lucy Palmadesso Mesagna. Beatrice attended Rome Schools. She was united in marriage to Harold R. Cook, Sr., on March 15, 1947, a blessed union of 66 years. He passed away on July 17, 2013. Mrs. Cook was a former employee of General Cable, Rome State School Washington Market as a butcher and retired from Rome Nursing Home in 1983. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. Beatrice loved holidays, making food and her Italian cookies for all to enjoy. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law Ray and Vicki Cook, Missouri, three daughters and a son-in-law Colleen and Simon Koenig, Lucille Cook and Roxanne Aldrich all of Rome; a step-son Harold and his wife Elsie Cook, Plattsburgh, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece Cindy DeProspero Outwater. Also surviving are three brothers, Tony Mesagna, Pasquale 'Pat' Mesagna, both of Rome and Rocco Mesagna, Sylvan Beach. She was predeceased by three sisters, Frances Galluppi, Rose DeProspero and Anna Sanchez; two brothers, Jack Mesagna and Joseph Mesagna. The family would like to express a thank you to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., and a special thank you to Cheryl, Dr. Gullo, Dr. McGinnis and Craig Lippit. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating, at the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
