Lucy M. Mastraccio Lucy M. Mastraccio, 86, of Rome passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 at Rome Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Rome, NY, on August 8, 1927 daughter of the late Louis and Mary Romano Barretta. Lucy graduated from Rome Free Academy Class of 1944 at the age of 16 years old. On September 14, 1946, she married Albert J. Mastraccio, in St. John the Baptist Church. She was a member of St. John the Baptist church and Jervis Library Association. Lucy was an avid reader and enjoyed going to Casinos. Surviving besides her husband Albert is a son Dr. Albert J. Mastraccio Jr. and his wife the Honorable Anne Marie Mastraccio, Sanford, Maine; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; including a special niece Angela Nashton and a special friend Gilda Destito. She was predeceased by a sister Catherine Barretta and four brothers James, Anthony, Nicholas and Joseph Baretta. The family would like to express a special thank you to Drs. Samir, Desai, Windy Mitchell and "the girls" Nancy, Becky and Nancy at the Faxton Regional Cancer Center, for their care and concern for Lucy. Funeral Services are private. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Jervis Public Library, 613 N. Washington St., Rome, NY, 13440.
