Carmen E. Natalie Carmen E. Natalie, 84, of Rome, passed away suddenly after a brief illness on Monday, March 3, 2014. He was born on September 30, 1929 in Rome, NY, son of the late Joseph T. and Elizabeth Bertha Assissi Natalie. On June 9, 1956, he married Mary Madonia in St. John the Baptist Church, where he was also a member. Carmen graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1947. He served in the US Army Airborne Division during the Korean War and later worked as a civilian at Griffiss Air Force Base as a budget analyst until his retirement. Carmen enjoyed music, woodworking, gardening and especially the time he spent with his family. He is survived by his wife Mary, a son and daughter-in-law, Carmen and Kelly Natalie of Ravena, NY; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Michael Abramski of Port Washington, NY, Rose and Chuck Campbell of Industry, PA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Stefanie and her husband Robert Jennings, Aaron Sauer, Douglas and Joseph Campbell, Lorenzo, Giovanna, Leonardo Natalie, and Cody Perrine-McGrath; four step-grandchildren; Michael and his wife Daniela Abramski, Brian and his wife Margaret Abramski, and Jessica Abramski; two step great-grandchildren, Dylan and Taylor Abramski. He is also survived by two sisters; Dolores Sherman and Rose Cullop both of Rome; a sister-in-law Angie Natalie of Enon, OH, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Jennie Hepworth, Antoinette and husband Kris Koza and Anna and husband Ronald Costello. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Natalie and brothers-in-laws Gordon Sherman and Robert Cullop, and William Hepworth. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
