Nancy DiBerardino Travis Nancy DiBerardino Travis, 87, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014, after a long illness. She was born in Rome, NY, on August 25, 1926, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Coia DiBerardino. On January 10, 1945, she married George "Chick" R. Travis Jr., who predeceased her on January 9, 2001. Nancy and Chick were the owner/operators of Green Acres Restaurant for 31 years prior to their retirement in 1987. For the past 10 years Nancy has resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and John Marchesino, in the Town of Floyd. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lorraine and John Marchesino, Floyd, two sons George R. Travis III of Rome, N.Y. and David Travis of Centennial, Colorado; six grandchildren, George "Chip" Travis of Rome, NY, Amanda Travis Simon of Nokomis, FL, Justin Travis of Waxhaw, NC, Aaron Travis of San Francisco, CA, Kevin Travis of San Francisco, CA, Cory Travis Rovnak of Annapolis, MD and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Angeline DiBerardino Pasqualetti, of Rome, N.Y., and a brother Vincent DiBerardino of Deltona, FL, along with several neices and nephews. Nancy was predeceased by three brothers: Louis A. DiBerardino, Frank N. DiBerardino, Charles A. DiBerardino and a sister Josephine DiBerardino Pasqualetti. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Betsy Ross Nursing Home, for the love and care given to mom during her stay there. Funeral services will be private.
