Obituary of Joseph P. Sherry

Joseph P. Sherry Joseph P. Sherry , 69, of 504 William St., passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at home, with his family present, after a long illness. He was born in New York City on August 31, 1937, son of the late Emily and Gus Milano. On December 17, 1960, he married Margaret Frantz in St. John the Baptist Church. Mr. Sherry retired from Griffiss Air Force Base where he was employed for over 35 years and was also a former employee of Jervis Library. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving besides his wife, Margaret "Peg", are two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jerry Hitchcock, Beth and Sal Frank, all of Rome; a son, Joseph A. Sherry, Tucson, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and a great granddaughter, Zoie. Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Robert V. and Teresa Sherry, Herkimer; a sister, Patricia A. Milano, Clinton; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Potter Road, Rome. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Arrangements are by the Nicholas J. Bush Funeral Home, Inc., 218 W. Court St.
